My interest in sound recording for film & television started at Edinburgh College of Art where I was studying Town & Country Planning in the early 1990s. I met some people who asked me if I wanted to go and make a short film over the Easter break. I said yes. On arrival in Norfolk I was given a pair of headphones, a Nagra and a 416 microphone. I was told I would be recording the sound. I loved it.

Post university and after a number of years playing guitar in bands, most notably the Divine Comedy in the mid to late 90's - I needed a career change. With fond memories of making short films at University I found myself applying and being accepted onto a sound recording course at the National Film and Television school.

It is nearly 20 years since I left the NFTS and I am still very much loving recording and mixing sound on set for Film and Television.
